VEGAS WELCOMES NEW ACTS, BIDS FAREWELL TO OTHERS

Though the term “residency show” is relatively new, these recurring series of performances by the same artist at the same venue have long been Sin City staples.

Billy Idol at HOUSE OF BLUES

Curl-lipped Brit rocker Billy Idol has chosen the intimate House of Blues Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino for the first-ever residency of his nearly 40-year career. With a set list spanning his days fronting U.K. punk band Generation X to global solo hits such as “White Wedding” and “Rebel Yell,” Idol’s Vegas stint comes on the heels of his best-selling 2014 autobiography “Dancing With Myself.” March 16, 18, 19, 23, 25, 26; May 4, 6, 7, 11, 13, 14 www.houseofblues.com

Travis Barker

at HYDE BELLAGIO

Superstar drummer and deejay Travis Barker plays the final show of his “Give the Drummer Some” residency, the first such series at Hyde Bellagio, on March 19 — a final chance to witness this visually stunning coming-together of Barker’s sticks and spinning skills. www.hydebellagio.com

Rascal Flatts

at THE JOINT Country music mega-sellers Rascal Flatts’ “Rhythm & Roots” residency at the Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, which wraps on March 4 and 5, is testament to the success of the trio’s initial run of Joint shows early last year. www.hardrockhotel.com
