Craft Beer Explosion
Las Vegas is all about fresh brewed craft beer. Tenaya Creek Brewery, after outgrowing its original 1999 location, opened a new operation this past year in the downtown area at 831 W. Bonanza Road. Instantly, the business tripled its brewing capacity with room to eventually produce 10 times more volume and added a canning line. The brand is available in Nevada, Southern California, Arizona, Utah and Canada and on Allegiant Airlines U.S. western flight routes.
This spring Tenaya Creek Brewery’s WHHSH Beer (What Happens Here, Stays Here) was the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s first limited edition product introduced at select Las Vegas-sponsored events. tenayacreek.com

Retiring Titanic Artifacts
Seven
priceless artifacts recovered nearly 30 years ago from the RMS Titanic
wreck site will be retired from public view and returned to a
conservation facility after the special engagement running through July
18 at the “Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition” inside the Luxor Las Vegas.
These include personal goods as well as textiles and paper documents,
which are incredibly rare because these materials usually deteriorate in
the marine environment.
These
treasures are being displayed for a final time after the accident that
happened 104 years ago and took the lives of 1,523 passengers and crew.

Veterans Memorial
Over
Memorial Day, the Las Vegas Veterans Memorial Foundation dedicated a
national memorial on the grounds of the Grant Sawyer State Office
Building, just north of downtown Las Vegas. Built in a park-like
setting, the memorial features 18 larger-than-life statues honoring
various war veterans surrounded by granite walls that span our nation’s
history from the Revolutionary War to today’s Global War on Terrorism,
with the centerpiece being a bronze family sculpture looking on at the
soldiers. The memorial was created by award-winning artist, Douwe
Blumberg. lasvegasveteransmemorial.org
