IMBIBE IN DELECTABLE DRINKS BEFORE THE NIGHTLIFE
AWAKENS
The action doesn’t just happen after dark in Las
Vegas. The city has a vibrant day drinking scene long before the nightlife
awakens from its weary slumber. Here are two options, located within the
Venetian and Palazzo resorts, and one that’s well worth the trip off the Strip.
Miami import Yardbird Southern Table & Bar has
been a hit for daytime eats since it joined the dining scene in 2015. Known for
its fried chicken, nothing quite goes with juicy poultry like a Watermelon
Sling. Made of crafted Dickel White whiskey, fresh-pressed watermelon juice and
lemon, then balanced with Aperol, this is a superb springtime refresher and one
that plays so well alongside crispy chicken biscuits with pepper jelly — only
one of the many iterations of fowl on the menu.
A few steps from Yardbird, make Morels Steakhouse
& Bistro the next stop on a day drinking adventure with a more traditional
libation. Here’s where to find table-side Bloody Cart with Marys (with vodka)
or Marias (with tequila). Go for as many garnishes as you wish, such as shaved
horseradish, fresh cut herbs and an assortment of pickles and porks. As the
weather warms up, the patio is the place to be.
