EXPERIENCE “CLASSIC CHER”
AT THE MONTE CARLO
Visitors to Vegas have the opportunity to see many
music icons, but this year, one stands out among the rest: Cher. The singer,
known for her illustrious musical style and over-the-top performances, was
awarded the 2017 Billboard Icon Award and just announced a residency extension
in Las Vegas.
Cher has been a dominant force in the music industry
for decades. She is the first artist to have a No. 1 single on a Billboard chart
in every decade since the 1960s. Her 1998 single “Believe” has grossed more
than $20 million and remains one of the best-selling singles of all time.
Cher was a backup singer when she met Sonny Bono. The
pair recorded their first No. 1 hit “I Got You Babe” in 1965. The pair’s
eye-catching costumes and harmonious sound helped catapult Cher into her own
superstardom. She tried her hand at television and movies, earning numerous
awards along the way – including an Academy Award for her role in “Moonstruck.”
In 2010, she performed “YouHaven’t Seen the Last of Me” for the musical
“Burlesque,” which earned her a Golden Globe in 2010.
She also made a huge splash in the fashion world and became known for her collaborations with celebrity designer Bob Mackie, who has styled her since her appearances on “The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour.”
When Las Vegas called, Cher answered with nearly 200 shows by the time her residency wound down in 2011. But she wouldn’t stay down for long. Earlier this year, Cher returned to Vegas for “Classic Cher” at the Park Theater at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino.
Fans will have another chance to stroll down memory lane and hear her lineup of hits including “Turn Back Time,” “Strong Enough” and more in 11 eye-popping Bob Mackie creations. The show takes the audience on a journey through her 50-year multi-decade career in music, film and television. The state-of-the-art production added dates in August and November. Tickets are on sale now.
Dates: Aug. 2 through 19 and Nov. 8 through 25.
