COSMOPOLITAN’S SASSY BOT CONCIERGE PUTS SIRI TO SHAME
Meet the newest addition to the staff at The
Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas: Rose. A uniquely designed robot concierge, Rose is
on hand to answer any questions guests staying at the hotel have, via text
message 24 hours a day.
Here’s how it works. Upon check in, guests are given a
mysterious card in a room key packet with a phone number on it. Once guests
begin texting the number, they will be introduced to Rose.
Want a suggestion for a romantic restaurant? Check.
More towels? No problem, Rose can arrange it all …accompanied by some
witticisms too, if you dare.
“Rose is an expression of our luxury with-a-wink take
on hospitality,” Mami Peers, senior director of digital, social and eCommerce
at The Cosmopolitan, said. “Rose offers a VIP experience with insider
information —all to help guests discover surprises found around every corner.”
Created in collaboration with the resort’s digital
marketing agency, Peers explained to the Vegas Guide that the chat bot took
roughly 60 days to program. The creative team even hired writers so that they
could better articulate Rose’s saucy responses.
The guest response has been positive, which is
encouraging for Peers, who is working with the hotel on an updated version of
the existing program, Rose 1.x.
“Rose is constantly evolving and far from being
“finished” —each day we make adjustments as we find better ways to serve resort
guests,” Peers said.
So what happens when Rose is unable to fulfill a
particular request? Rest assured, the staff at The Cosmopolitan can still
administer anything Rose cannot.
