Jones has long devoted his spare time to children. For several years, he taught physical education and nutrition at George White Elementary, where he received the PTA’s Very Special Person Award. He now helps out at Sunday School at Saddleback Church.

He holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Illinois Wesleyan University.
