Tim DeCinces brings a diverse business background to HÔM Sotheby’s International Realty. After an eight-year tenure in professional baseball with the Baltimore Orioles, San Diego Padres and Oakland Athletics, DeCinces founded Home Plate Development. The rapidly growing company has developed 26 homes in the Coastal Orange County area. DeCinces personally oversees the acquisition, entitlement, design and construction of each home site. In addition to his extensive residential development experience, he is the owner/operator of the Beach Pit BBQ restaurants. The original Beach Pit BBQ is in Costa Mesa with other locations in Old Town Tustin and Orange. DeCinces has been nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year by the Orange County Business Journal and was recognized in the OC Metro Top 40 under 40 as one of the most influential Orange County Business people under 40. A graduate of the University of Southern California Los Angeles, he was a three-time, All-American baseball player leading the Pac-12 in home runs his junior year. He has served as chairman of the UCLA Orange County Wooden Fund from 2009-current. A licensed California Real Estate Broker since 2003, DeCinces has “all the bases covered” for his clients: an understanding of the local markets as an investor and developer; knowledge of the entitlement, permit and construction process should improvements be in the works; and the ability to handle any transaction no matter how complex as an accomplished entrepreneur.
