Grading
is completed, site improvements have commenced,clubhouse interiors are underway, and soon, framing will start on the array of model homes for the eleven new neighborhoods of Sendero, the first village at the new ranch community of Rancho Mission Viejo in scenic South Orange County.
Comprised of more than 17,000 acres of permanent open space and 6,000 acres of future residential and mixeduse development, Rancho Mission Viejo is Orange County’s last working ranch, held in the O’Neill/Avery/Moiso family since 1882. Approximately 75% of The Ranch will be preserved as part of a larger habitat conservation area known as The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo and 25% will be developed into multiple villages.

Scheduled to open in early summer 2013 is the village of Sendero. encompassing approximately 690 acres and offering approximately 940 attached and detached homes and 290 apartment units, Sendero will include the gated 55+ enclave of Gavilan, providing 285 single-level residences adjacent to aprivate clubhouse and
recreational facilities. Framing has finished on the clubhouse at Gavilan as well as key amenities
for all Sendero residents to enjoy
including a centrally located community hall, a clubhouse and recreational core. Next step will be the construction of the clubhouse interior walls and ceilings, followed by detailed interior design work and landscaping.
Additional Sendero amenities planned include a15-acre community park, the vegetable and fruit gardens of Sendero Farm, neighborhood parks, hiking/ biking trails accessing Reserve trails and a County Regional hiking and biking trails network, the 10-acre Ranch Marketplace retail plaza, a fire station, and a child day care center.
A total of eleven different residential neighborhoods (many offering single-level homes) are planned for Sendero and Gavilan, with a broad selection of home styles and prices offered for sale from Meritage Homes, Ryland Homes, Sea- Country Homes, Shea Homes, Standard Pacific Homes, The Pulte Group, TRi Pointe Homes,
William lyon Homes, and Western National Group.
Rancho Mission Viejo and the first village of Sendero are located in the heart of south Orange County, just 2.3 miles from downtown San Juan Capistrano and five miles from the coastal attractions of San Clemente and dana Point Harbor, with easy access provided to the employment and retail centers of ladera Ranch, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita and other Orange County areas.
Collectively, over the next two decades, the villages on Rancho Mission Viejo are expected to offer 14,000 homes (including 6,000 active adult residences) and up to five million square feet of non-residential uses. in addition, schools, parks and recreational facilities, shopping and employment centers will be developed, as well as an interconnected system of arterial roadways and hiking/biking trails carefully integrated with some

Mission Viejo. Combined with additional open spaces already dedicated by Rancho Mission
Viejo, The Reserve will grow over time to nearly 21,000 acres. Ultimately, The Reserve will be combined with County-owned lands to form the 33,000-acre Southern Subregion Habitat Reserve,
