Californian liz mannix is starting a new chapter in her abundant life --- all with an expansive view, overlooking the scenic san Juan Valley in sendero, the first village to open on the ranch.

sendero now offers 11 brand new residential neighborhoods, priced from the $300,000s to just over $1 million. Four of sendero’s neighborhoods offer primarily single level homes for the 55-plus crowd within sendero’s gated enclave of Gavilan.

liz is moving to the Del Webb neighborhood of Gavilan at sendero. she’s streamlining her life yet bringing with her decades of memories gathered while raising three wonderful children, traveling the world, and operating the successful and popular san Juan Animal Hospital in neighboring san Juan Capistrano, all with her husband of 38 years.

“my husband passed away suddenly last year, just as we were contemplating moving

out of our family home in Coto de Caza,” said liz. “i looked around Corona del mar and Newport beach, yet most of the available homes required so much restoration. And, after selling san Juan Animal Hospital to a wonderful veterinarian named Dr. bondurant, i decided to stay in the san Juan Capistrano area - and be accessible to the new owner and our great clients. i just wasn’t sure where exactly, until iheard about the new community of rancho mission Viejo and the upcoming grand opening of the sendero village. sendero, especially the enclave of Gavilan, is the perfect place for my two dogs, cat and me. this is our new home.”

During the public grand opening of sendero’s 11 neighborhoods, liz and her family toured nearly every model home, finally selecting Plan 1at the Del Webb neighborhood.

“i was the first person in my new neighborhood to sign

escrow documents: and i’m now watching my brand new home being built,” said mannix. “this is an exciting time for me. i feel Jack with me every step of the way - he would have loved living here. iknow that ihave so much to look forward to, especially new opportunities backed by such great memories. ihave been so blessed.”

Amenities already completed at sendero include three different clubhouses, pools, a children’s water splash park, avillage green, and paseos leading to fire pits, playgrounds, native gardens, bocce ball courts, picnic areas, and even aputting green. Preparing to start construction is sendero’s planned 15-acre community park, the vegetable and fruit gardens of sendero Farm, the ranch marketplace retail center, a fire station, and a network of hiking/biking trails ultimately leading to County of Orange parks, portions of the reserve at rancho mission Viejo, and even Dana Point Harbor and

Doheny state beach.

“the Hacienda is the clubhouse for us Gavilan residents,” said liz. “it comes with a large lounge and great bar, expansive front and rear patios with lots of outdoor seating next to barbeque grills and tables as well as bocce ball courts and an incredible resort-like pool,” said liz. “the Hacienda is where i’ll join with my family and friends to continue our tradition of celebrating ‘margarita sundays’ as we lounge by the pool, maybe after hiking all the open space areas. And, when my four grandsons come for a visit, we can spend time at the ranch House clubhouse, playing at the water splash park, all within the same village. it’s pretty perfect here.”
