Dear Readers,
We’re excited to launch our 26th San Diego’s Best Union-Tribune Readers Poll, giving readers the chance to name their top picks in the region we love.
By participating in the 2022 poll, you’re showing your support for the local businesses, goods and services that make our community shine, including many that have experienced incredible challenges in the past few years linked to the ongoing pandemic.
We couldn’t be prouder to help you recognize these bright stars.
The nomination process begins Feb. 20.
During this phase, we are asking you to nominate the places, people, goods and services that you rate as tops in San Diego. (See page 4 for the list of categories.)
As we have done over the past 26 years, we’ve added some new categories this year requested by readers. You can nominate your favorites in multiple categories.
After the nominations are in, we tally and verify them, then open the voting phase. You, our readers, are key to the whole process. It is your voice —and vote — that determine the winners.
As Special Projects Manager for the Union-Tribune, I’m especially honored to carry on this important tradition. In my 29 years with the company – just a little longer than the San Diego’s Best Union-Tribune Readers Poll – I’ve found there’s nothing more fun and meaningful than supporting local businesses.
We expect this year to be our biggest poll ever, with more than 200 categories spanning a wide range of businesses and services.
From all of us at The San Diego Union- Tribune, we appreciate your support and thank you in advance for your participation in this year’s SD Best Readers Poll, the longest-running poll of its kind in the county.
