Deacon Jim roope, St. Francis Xavier Church

Deacon Jim Roope has committed much of his life to the service of others — both in and out of the St. Francis Xavier Community.

Roope has undertaken the significant and appreciated role of confirmation director and deacon for St. Francis Xavier, providing a program to help young adults understand Jesus’ life and mission and accept God’s love.

Roope’s path on the road to deacon was long and shared by his loving wife and family.Healso has an entire community of grateful parishioners who love to hear his impassioned sermons and timely jokes.

Whether as a scout leader, a baseball coach, a star in plays or the gregarious emcee for events such as St. Francis Xavier’s annual “Mass in the Park,” Roope’s selfless service continues to engage the community.
