The Starlight Bowl and the Burbank Recycle Center’s award winning Zero Waste Program is back! Separate bins for recycling, composting, and trash surround the venue. Zero Waste Ambassadors are ready to answer your questions so you can perfectly sort your discards. These efforts are certainly paying off! The Starlight Bowl’s recycling rate has climbed from 20% in 2011 to 70% in 2017. Instead of going to the landfill, 70% of concert discards are being composted or recycled! Take only what you need. Refuse condiment packets, disposable cutlery,
straws, etc. (These small plastics are hard to separate out of recycling
and composting piles.) Reuse Pack your picnic with reusables and take home leftovers. Recycle
Bottles & Cans They are the most common recyclables! Keep beverage
containers out of plastic bags and put them in the right bin so they
don’t go to the landfill. Compost Food scraps and soiled, uncoated paper items are not trash. They are compostable!
