Under Kelly Coffey’s leadership, City National is stronger and better capitalized than ever before in its 68-year history. She has grown the bank to more than 5,500 colleagues and 74 offices in more than a dozen states. City National is now a $91.3-billion bank, up from $35 billion in assets when she took the helm in 2019. Coffey took the lead at City National in 2019 – just one year before the global pandemic.

One of Coffey’s innovation-based goals is for City National to become a digitally-enabled relationship bank, which proved even more critical during the pandemic, as demand for the bank’s digital channels rose to 800%. In 2021, City National joined with fintech startup Extend to launch a virtual Visa commercial credit card solution that generates true virtual cards on demand for simplified and secure contactless payments at the point of sale.
