The Veterans’ Monument in Upland will be unveiled to the public at 1 p.m. on Veterans’ Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The unveiling ceremony will follow a noon Veterans’ Day parade through downtown Upland that will conclude at the monument site.

Day parade will begin at noon at the Cooper Museum at 217 East A Street in downtown Upland and travel north along Second Avenue to D Street, at which point it will turn west toward the Civic Center. Military units and school and community organizations are among those expected to participate.

Under the oversight of the city of Upland, the Veterans’ Monument is intended to honor all military service branches and personnel, both veterans and currently serving. The monument an educational exhibit with information about each military branch and the and women who have bravely served the United States.

The unveiling ceremony will follow at 1 p.m. and will include a performance by the Upland High School Madrigal Choir, and a number of special activities, in addition to a traditional Veterans’ Day observance.

Donations to the Upland Veteran’s Monument should be sent to the Upland Community Foundation at P.O. Box 794, Upland, Calif., 91785. Gifts are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
