Five names were drawn and the 4th key belonged to Rancho Cucamonga High School Senior Nicholas Gibbs, the winner of a new car in a contest among students with perfect attendance.

The May 13 drawing put Nicholas behind the wheel of a new Chevrolet Cruze from Mark Christopher Auto Center, with tax and license paid.

All students from Alta Loma and Ontario high schools who achieved perfect attendance for the entire school year were eligible to participate in the “It’s Cool to Stay in School” car giveaway event.

“In the past years we helped raise more than $1 million for the Chaffey Unified School District by promoting perfect attendance through our It’s Cool to Stay in School” car give-away event,” said Mark Leggio, owner of Mark Christopher Chevrolet in Ontario. “But the real winners are the young people who work hard and do well in school every day. We recognize every one of them, and their families.”

The Association of California School Administrators recently presented the dealership a Community Award for supporting student attendance throughout the district.

The event saw 472 students participate, nearly 100 more eligible students than last year. In addition to the car, prizes donated by an extensive network of sponsors included IPADs, XBOX1, lap top computers, flat screen TVs, Apple TVs, $200 gift cards, Angels and Dodgers tickets and more to these deserving students.

“We just want to thank so many in the community once again for your support,” Mark Leggio said. “It would not be as great without our dedicated sponsors.”
