This year, the Friends are trying to find good homes for their inventory of Fine Books before the Claremont Library closes for renovations.

The Dec. 2 sale promises to be a holiday shopper’s dream. The sale will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Claremont Library, 208 Harvard Ave.

Find highly discounted books of great value, rare, old, first editions; fine early and later classics in nearly all academic fields, especially history and literature; many autographed works, specialty printers; works finely illustrated.

Highlighted books: Art Books, including rare older works and books published by specialty art presses. Californiana, books and pamphlets in all price ranges.

Real Antiques – works from the early 1800’s to 1918 including some surprises:

fine illustrations, marbled paper, guilt edging, leather, rare copies, a few foreign languages, works printed on luxurious papers. Old Children’s Books – not only classic stories, but remarkable illustrations.
