Michael Krouse, president and CEO of the Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau, has been elected to serve on the CalTravel PAC Trustee Board.

CalTravel advances the California travel and tourism industry through advocacy, collaboration and education. Travel and tourism is one of the most significant economic drivers in the state – responsible for hundreds of billions of dollars in economic activity, millions of jobs and billions in tax revenues.

“I am honored to serve on the Board of Directors for CalTravel,” Krouse said.

“As the official destination marketing organization, we keep our finger on the pulse of tourism advocacy, in addition to continually keeping Greater Ontario top of mind amongst our peers and state representatives.”

Quarterly stakeholder update meetings will allow him to share information from CalTravel with Greater Ontario hospitality and tourism destinations.

Visitors to California spent $132.4 billion in 2017, spending that supported over one million jobs. California travelers generated $10.9 billion in state and local taxes in 2017.
