The Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band and Elks Lodge #1419 of Ontario will present “Love Story” on Monday, Feb. 17 at Gardiner W. Spring Auditorium, located on the campus of Chaffey High School at 1250 N. Euclid Ave. in Ontario.

Early concert goers are invited to enjoy complimentary cookies and Starbucks coffee served in the lobby at 7 p.m. with pre-concert entertainment provided by the Woodwind Celebration. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free to the public.

The Show Band has compiled a collection of famous love songs in celebration of Valentine’s Day. The concert will feature two special guest artists: Singers Dr. George Matamala and Marilyn Sherwood. Also, highlighting the program are Show Band soloists Isaac Gonzalez, Sandra McDaniel, Francisco Mowatt, Mike Pfister, Pat Arnold, and Kathy Soderlund.

During the day, Dr. Matamala is an administrator in the Chaffey Joint Union High School District. He will be featured on Sting’s “Every Breath You Take,” the Wings and Paul McCartney hit “My Love,” the haunting ballad “Unchained Melody,” and the Mexican hit song “El Dia Que Me Quiera” (The Day I Love).

Marilyn Sherwood will sing “I Love Being With You,” a Peggy Lee favorite, and “It’sAlmost Like Being in Love.”

Show Band musician and vocalist Isaac Gonzalez will sing two beautiful love songs; “Love Letters” and “When I Fall In Love.” Making her singing debut on the Show Band stage is Sandra McDaniel, of the Show Band clarinet section.

For the concert’s finale, George Matamala, Marilyn Sherwood, Isaac Gonzales, and Sandra McDaniel all return to stage to perform with the Show Band on the Beatles hit song “All You Need Is Love.”
