Claremont Heritage introduces the “Treasury of Claremont Music (TCM)” archive project, an online archive of the history of music and musicians from the region.

The TCM Project will launch 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Historic Garner House with performances by several of the musicians in the archive. Garner House is located at 840 N. Indian Hill Blvd., Claremont.

Admission is $10 per guest.

There will be an exhibition of inaugural artists presented in the archive, as well as live musical performances by Alan Medak; Falcon Eddy featuring Amy Maloof and Erica Tyron; Sugar Mountain Mama Serenade, and Michael Ryan/ Hai Muradian/Ken Soderlund.

In between musical sets, DJ’s, Dia Hakina and Junor Francis from KSPC will spin. The TCM launch will be dedicated to two recently passed members of the project, Norma Tanega and Chris Darrow.

Hors d’oeuvres and libations will be served on what is sure to be a very special evening in the Garner House courtyard.

Background: The Treasury of Claremont Music was started a number of years ago by Skelly, an artist, radio DJ, and avid music fan, to document Claremont’s expansive music community and the musicians who have called the Pomona Valley home over the years.

The Treasury of Claremont Music website (treasuryofclaremontmusic.com) is an online digital “Living Archive” that will showcase the rich cultural heritage of Claremont’s local musicians both past and present, providing context for the vibrant musical scene that still exists to this day.

The project will continually be updated to highlight some of the region’s most notable and important musicians by collecting biographies, photographs, and music clips to offer a glimpse of the diverse musical talent that has impacted so many.
