Elizabeth House is a residential shelter program in Pasadena committed to the health and welfare of adult pregnant women and their children.

It is the only non-profit organization in the San Gabriel Valley that specifically addresses the needs of pregnant women who lack adequate shelter and prenatal care.

It started when a local homeowner donated a house to the Pasadena Covenant Church to serve at-risk women and children in the community. A task force, along with community partners, churches, civic groups, individuals, businesses, and foundations, formed a partnership to open Elizabeth House to its first resident on July 15, 1994.

Since then, Elizabeth House has provided essential shelter, food, care and counseling for 307 women and more than 433 infants and children in the San Gabriel Valley. Its comprehensive residential program helps women overcome their own unique obstacles, such as drug and alcohol abuse or domestic violence.
