It´s just one
guy in a cowboy hat with an acoustic guitar and wooden stool. Yet
country superstar Garth Brooks still manages to pack them in at wynn Las
Vegas, where his one-man show returns his month. If anybody
could manage to fill a Vegas theater in such a spare setting, it´s
Brooks. With more then two dozen No. 1 hits, tens of millions of records
sold and enough trophies to fill a house, Brooks is one of the biggest
solo pop artists of all time. At the top of his game, he gave
up performing but came out of retirement in 2009 when Steve Wynn offered
him a deal that allowed him to spend most of his time at his Oklahoma
ranch while performing weekends in Las Vegas. The show is intimate and personal in a way that´s unusual
for Vegas. Brooks is chatty and seems to work without a set list. He
plays his own hits as well as songs of singers who have influenced him
over the years, among them Simon and Garfunkel, Don McLean, James Taylor
and Harry Chapin.
An "Unforgettable Garth Package" includes three nights in
a Wynn or Encore suite, two premium tickets to the show, Garth Brooks
merchandise valued at $100, dinner, brunch and spa treatments. Cost is
$839 for two people. See also
