On March 8, High Street mainstay Topshop opens a 20,000-square-foot retail space in Fashion Show Mall. Launched in 1964, the British brand has since set up more than 300 shops in 37 countries (the Sin City space is their largest on the West Coast). Street-chic fashion lines like Deco Grunge and Surf Luxe are paired with mirrored-ceilings and, yes, a deejay booth.

Sky Combat Ace

Sky Combat Ace straps you in to a modified twoseat stunt plane with one of a dozen professional fighter pilots — ex-Air Force jocks with awesome/ scary nicknames like “Tex” and “Slick.” After a 50-minute pilot briefing, a wingman/instructor lets you take the controls for a bit of pretend dogfighting and high-G maneuvering. Smith Center

Opening March 10, the $450-million Smith Center for the Performing Arts will host music, theater and dance performances from around the world. The 2012 lineup includes celebrated cellist Yo-Yo Ma, humorist David Sedaris (pictured) and a series of Broadway hits — from “The Color Purple” to “Wicked” — starting at $24 a ticket.
