HOW DO WE SPEND A ROMANTIC DAY IN VEGAS?
With its Sin City moniker, many people think of Las
Vegas for bachelor/bachelorette parties or a weekend getaway with the
guys/girls rather than for romantic trip with your significant other.
That’s why I often get asked what couples can do in
Las Vegas to set the mood for romance. While there are plenty of places that
are perfect for celebrating any special occasion, I find myself recommending
these three spots to couples more than anything else.
Ignite the spark at a seductive show When you’re
lusting for something to watch with your loved one that’s tasteful yet
titillating, look no further than “Zumanity” at New York-New York. My favorite Cirque
du Soleil show, the provocative cabaret-style production blends playful
innuendo with daring eroticism as its cast celebrates love. Featuring
smoldering dance routines and acrobatics, it’s not uncommon for ticket holders
to leave the showroom feeling a little hot and bothered —especially after the
leather straps performer and the limber contortionist. www.cirquedusoleil.com/zumanity
Spend some time together at a spa There’s nothing like
reconnecting with the one you love, and Spa Aquae at JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort
and Spa is the perfect place to enjoy a little pampering together. Unlike most
spas, the off-Strip retreat has a lavish co-edarea outdoors couples can enjoy
with a hot tub, sauna, steam room and hydrotherapy circuit pool. The spa also
offers massages couples can experience side by side, like its 50-or80-minute
desert stone massage. Guaranteed to “heat things up,” the service uses warm
stones to help relieve couples of tension and stress and transport them to a
state of romantic bliss. www.marriott.com/lasjw
Relish a romantic dinner Fora truly sensual dining
experience, I always recommend Strip House inside Planet Hollywood Resort and
Casino. The sizzling steakhouse not only serves delicious charred cuts of beef,
but also knows how to set the mood for romance with its rich red interior and
provocative Studio Manasse burlesque photographs on the walls. Couples can dig
in to the porterhouse for two or the 24-ounce, center-cut chateaubriand that’s carved
tableside, then savor as lice of the decadent 24-layer chocolate cake. www.striphouse.com/venues/las-vegas

nights on the Strip, Heather Turk has written about Las Vegas for a
