HANG AND RELAX AT THE ELLIS ISLAND FAMILY “FRONT YARD”
A beloved Vegas destination, the family owned and operated Ellis Island Casino Hotel and Brewery is enhancing its historic charm with a new dining, drinking and entertainment venue: “The Front Yard,” with a grand opening Dec. 6.
"The Front Yard is an exciting addition to the property that will offer something new ... while retaining the inviting, family-oriented feeling that Ellis Island is known for," said Christina Ellis, director of marketing for Ellis Island, one of several family members involved in the business.
When the property opened as Village Pub over 50 years ago, its Koval Lane address - just a block from the Las Vegas Strip - was little more than a dirt road. Founder Frank Ellis passed it to his son Gary in 1985, who gave it the Ellis Island name and added a full casino. In 2014, the property purchased and reimagined an adjacent motel to create the Ellis Island Casino Hotel and Brewery.
The addition retains the Ellis' "old Vegas" values - a complimentary drink when you sit down to gamble and bartenders who remember your name. It combines Ellis Island's unrivaled value with a 300-capacity space featuring a glass roof that can open or close depending on the weather.
With its expansive windows, The Front Yard has a spectacular view of the Strip. While it features sleek, modern appointments in its garden environs, it retains Ellis Island's DNA: unpretentious fun and cozy familiarity.
The second floor atrium will allow guests to watch live entertainment or classic outdoor bar games (cornhole, shuffleboard, beer pong etc.) below. Designed for flexibility, it will also be available for private parties.
Among the largest independent breweries in Nevada, Ellis Island Brewery is connected via a window showing the beers being brewed in their large copper tanks.
There are also plans to distill spirits within The Front Yard, affording guests the opportunity to both watch and taste.
Ellis Island's wonderful (and wonderfully affordable) food will extend into The Front Yard, where a dedicated kitchen will serve up delicious Ellis family recipes.
