Having moved on to larger accommodations in Hancock Park earlier this year, Damon Wayans is ready to part with his ocean view on the Westside. The comic actor has put his condo in Santa Monica on the market for $6.5 million.
At that price, the comic actor stands to more than double his money on the condo — records show he bought the property in 2005 for $3 million.
The 3,093-square-foot pied-aterre is in a 16-unit building constructed in 1997 and is one of only four top-floor condos. An open floor plan includes a formal dining room, a living room with a fireplace, an eat-in kitchen, two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.
Aden is currently being used as amedia room/office, and there’s also an enclosed laundry room off the kitchen. The master suite, with two walk-in closets, his and hers bathrooms and a fireplace, takes in views of Palisades Park and the coastline.
An ocean-facing balcony is shared by the common areas and the master bedroom.
Other perks of the residence include 24-hour concierge service and access to a workout facility and a rooftop lounge with a swimming pool. Two parking spaces are included with the unit.
Curt Northrup and John Iglar of Teles Properties hold the listing.
For Wayans, entertainment is a family business. Among his siblings are actors Marlon Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Dwayne Wayans. He is the father of actor Damon Wayans Jr.; actor-writer-producer Damien Dante Wayans is his nephew.
The 55-year-old got his start in stand-up and created the comedy “In Living Color” in 1990 with his brother Keenan. Among his credits are the film comedies “Major Payne” (1995) and “Blankman” (1994) as well as the TV series “My Wife and Kids” (2001-05).
In March, Wayans closed on a home in the Hancock Park area for $5.35 million. The traditional-style compound, built in 1949 and
extensively updated, includes a main house, a guesthouse, a swimming
pool and a pool house on nearly half an acre — plenty of room for
immediate- and extended-family gatherings.
Scene change for a TV doctor
Actor-director Eriq La Salle, known for his role as Dr. Peter Benton in the long-running series “ER,” has bought a home in Bel- Air for $3.03 million.
Sitting
on a crest above Stone Canyon Reservoir, the T-shaped ranch house has
views of the surrounding hillsides, mountains and ocean. Steps lead down
the sloping property to trails and the reservoir below.
Within
the 2,400 square feet of white-walled space is a living/ dining room
area, a center-island kitchen, a den, three bedrooms and three
bathrooms. A guesthouse has another en suite bedroom.
Rows
of sliding glass doors open to multiple patios, garden beds, lawns and a
swimming pool. Atwo-car garage sits off the entrance to the home.
The
house went on the market in April for $3.495 million, records show. The
sellers were television and film producer Ralph Singleton and his wife,
screenwriter Joan Singleton.
Amy Colvin Kaz of John Aaroe Group was the listing agent. Andrew Dinsky of PLG Estates represented La Salle.
La
Salle, 53, has a host of television and film credits, plus a few for
directing and producing. He appeared in the 1988 film “Coming to
America” and has been in the series “A Gifted Man” and “Under the Dome.”
He is reportedly set to join the cast of the third “Wolverine” movie.
Their house is a traditional hit
Nick Carter no longer wants it that way.
The Backstreet Boys singersongwriter and his wife, actress Lauren Kitt Carter, have put their estate behind gates in Hidden Hills on the market for $4.25 million.
The
traditional-style home, built in 1956 and since updated, sits on 1.32
acres of pastoral grounds and is accompanied by a newly built
guesthouse. A chicken coop built in the style of the main house also
sits on the grounds.
Reached
by a private drive, the 5,200-square-foot house has a classic yet
contemporary look. Wide-plank hardwood floors, beamed ceilings and
subdued hues are among details of note. Bathroom and kitchen countertops
feature vibrant Calcutta marble.
Living
areas include an open great room, a dining room, a chef’s kitchen, a
den/office and a game/ family room with an aquarium. An oversized master
suite — with a fireplace, two walk-in closets and a steam shower — has a
balcony that overlooks the grounds.
Sliding
glass doors off the main level open to a covered patio with a fire-pit
feature. Stone steps lead down to a swimming pool and spa.
The Carters bought the house a year ago for $3.65 million, records show.
Andrew Mortaza of Keller Williams Realty holds the listing.
Carter,
36, has been with the Backstreet Boys since their inception in 1993 and
has also released three solo records. He and the band are reportedly
working on a ninth studio album, due out later this year.
Kitt
Carter hosts the fitness series “Kitt Fit” on YouTube and has also
appeared on the daytime series “One Life to Live.” More recently, she
appeared with her husband in the Syfy movie “Dead 7.”
South Bay spot gives QB some space
Former professional football player and Heisman-winning quarterback Matt Leinart has bought a home in Manhattan Beach for $2.245 million.
Located
near Mira Costa High School, Leinart’s new two-story home has about
3,600 square feet —quite a bit more room than the nearby
2,135-square-foot home he sold last year.
Fun
features include a lighted basketball half-court, a tetherball pole, a
swimming pool and a spa. A patch of grass and a two-car garage sit off
the front of the house, which was built in 1995.
Among other details of note are vaulted ceilings, chandelier fixtures and wide-plank wood floors.
Aliving room with a fireplace opens to a formal dining room and an adjacent center-island kitchen.
Agreat
room, an office, five bedrooms and four bathrooms are also within the
home. The master suite, with walk-in closets, a fireplace and Jacuzzi
tub, has windows that overlook the walled and hedged grounds.
The
property came up for sale in April for $2.299 million. It previously
changed hands more than a decade ago for $1.419 million, records show.
Jan Rhees of Partners Trust Real Estate was the listing agent. Nicholas Schneider of Palm Realty Boutique repped Leinart.
Leinart,

Heisman Trophy as a member of the USC Trojans. The former first-round
NFL draft pick retired in 2014 after six seasons with the Arizona
Cardinals, Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders.
He currently works as a studio analyst for Fox Sports’ college football coverage.
