One in every 25 L.A. families brought their child to CHLA for care this year. That’s 107,000 children a year—enough to fill Staples Center six times—and demand for CHLA’s expert pediatric care continues to grow.
Seventy percent of these patients come to CHLA for a health emergency. With one of the nation’s largest emergency transport programs for children, CHLA is known for turning precious seconds into lives saved.
CHLA was named the best children’s hospital on the West Coast and it is among the top 10 in the nation for clinical excellence with its selection to the prestigious 2015-2016 U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll.
A nonprofit hospital, CHLA depends on generous donations to help heal children in an environment that lets them thrive. Each gift helps the hospital ensure that all of our patients receive the critical, lifesaving care they need.
CHLA provides the equivalent of $222.6 million in community benefit to children and families of Los Angeles County and beyond, including $3.2 million in charity care.
The Saban Research Institute of CHLA is one of the few freestanding research centers in the U.S. devoted exclusively to children. With nearly 400 clinical trials each year, every study is a step forward in improving care for kids in Los Angeles and around the world.
In addition to its main campus at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Vermont Avenue in Hollywood, CHLA boasts five outpatient care centers in the Greater Los Angeles area in the communities of Arcadia, Encino, Santa Monica, South Bay and Valencia.
