To combat hunger, loneliness and isolation, the San Fernando Valley Interfaith Council (VIC) provides hot nutritious lunches at 15 dining centers for seniors 60 and older, giving them the opportunity to socialize and enjoy wellness and recreational activities. Meals delivered to the homebound and disabled provide the only interaction many seniors have all day.

Every day, 10,000 Americans turn 65. The San Fernando Valley has the largest number of seniors in Los Angeles County, according to the 2010 US Census.

VIC is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit nonsectarian organization, offering a variety of services:

263,944 meals are served annually; 1,000 to 1,700 seniors are served daily at four centers; 42,000 rides are provided annually by VIC’s transportation services.

Unlike many charities, 97.7 percent of contributions go to support of VIC programs and services. Please remember the community’s seniors by giving to the San Fernando Valley Interfaith Council.

To help make a difference in the life of a senior and for donation options and program information please visit the VIC website at www.vic-la.org or call 818.880.4842.
