Plan particular times to meet in the spots. Cell phones often don’t work at these festivals because of the sheer amount of people and noise.

Bring reusable water bottles to fill up at the carnival water stations. Even though it’s a night festival, it’s extremely hot.

Always carry snacks and cash.

Have a game plan. Look at the festival map and lineup before getting there so you know what sets you want to go to and how to get there.

It’s totally worth the money to rent a locker and stow your stuff all day (extra layer of clothes, food, etc.).

Wear comfortable shoes! Bring lip balm and a cell phone charger.

Pee early. Bathroom lines are usually insane.

Last but not least, the coolest thing about EDC is that it goes all night and into the morning. If at all possible, try to stay up for one of the sunrise sets — dawn in the desert to a soundtrack of moody tunes.
