Ivy A. Wang is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Ellis George Cipollone O’Brien Annaguey LLP. A former federal prosecutor, she practices white-collar criminal and regulatory defense, and litigates a wide variety of commercial disputes, including trade secrets, unfair business practices and contract disputes, in state and federal court.

In 2021, Wang and her law partner, Thomas P. O’Brien, spearheaded the defense in a three-month federal criminal trial in Los Angeles and obtained an acquittal for their physician client on all 33 felony counts while the two other defendants were convicted on all counts. The case, prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California (USAO), involved an alleged $355 million insurance fraud scheme by the 1-800-GET-THIN Lap Band surgery business. Wang and O’Brien are defending a naval officer in another federal criminal trial that started in San Diego on February 28, 2022.
