Find family fun at Ontario City Library
There is a lot to do over the next few months for young ones and their family members, and the following is just a sample of what’s being offered at both the Ovitt Family Community Library and the Colony High Branch Library, which make up the Ontario Library system.

Inland Pacific’s ‘Nutcracker’
To benefit the Inland Pacific Ballet and celebrate the return of “The Nutcracker,” there will be a festive holiday gala hosted at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Bridges Auditorium. A champagne/wine reception will be held before the performance. Drinks and food will be provided during the intermission and the night will end with dessert with the artists.

Exhibition follows in Muir’s footsteps
View photographs and hear the compelling story of one scholar and historian who sought to find the hundreds of plants that John Muir collected during his travels in Canada, Indiana, the southern United States, California and Alaska more than 125 years ago.

The event will feature crafts, refreshments, stories and a visit from Santa Claus. It is being presented in partnership with the Community Services Department and the Glendora Public Library, and sponsored by the Glendora Rotary Club and the GPL Friends Foundation.

Home security remains important during holidays
• Fortify the doors. If you have just bought a new home, change any locks from a previous owner. Use a deadbolt in addition to a door knob. A common method of entry is to kick in the strike plate, the panel that holds the lock or latch bolt in place. For more protection, install a heavy duty strike plate using extralong screws.
